Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy focuses on helping individuals heal from the psychological and emotional effects of traumatic experiences. Trauma can result from events like physical or emotional abuse, accidents, natural disasters, war, or loss. It can lead to symptoms such as anxiety, depression, flashbacks, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem issues, difficulty concentration, negative feelings, sleep and appetite changes, difficulty making trust, interpersonal conflict, avoidance, self-harm behaviour, and physical health issues.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a specific condition that can develop after experiencing trauma, characterized by intrusive memories, avoidance of triggers and hyperarousal.

Coping with trauma can be challenging:

  • Practice self-care

  • Setting boundaries

  • Journaling

  • Establish routines
